Knee Pain Rehab

Exercise Physiology Treatment For Knee Injuries

We treat a wide range of knee issues: from major knee injuries, post-surgery rehab to older clients managing osteoarthritis. Every exercise program is customized to decrease pain, regain strength and mobility. Every knee issue is unique so your program is completely tailored to your specific needs.

Knee injuries commonly treated by exercise physiology include:

  • Pre-Post Knee surgery

  • Patellofemoral pain syndrome (kneecap pain, including runners knee)

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Degenerative and traumatic meniscal (cartilage) tears

  • Patella tendinopathy

Exercise Physiology Treatment Program

The treatment plan is based on your knee injury, the results of your physical assessment, your goals, and your level of exercise confidence. Whilst every client's knee injury is unique, your treatment plan will typically progress through four major stages.

1. Regain your full range of motion and look for exercises you can do right away without aggravating your pain.
2. Reactivate local knee muscles and begin specific strength training exercises.
3. Correction of whole-body biomechanical factors, such as hip and ankle biomechanics, that are contributing to your pain.
4. Returning to full activities of daily living
